The Optimizing Prevention Technology Introduction on Schedule (OPTIONS) Consortium, FHI 360, AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC), Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute, LVCT Health, and McCann Global Health announce publication of their co-authored article, “PrEP Communications Accelerator: a digital demand creation tool for sub-Saharan Africa” in the journal, Sexual Health.
The peer-reviewed article’s release comes on the heels of the PrEP Communications Accelerator’s launch at AIDS 2018 earlier this year. The article outlines the rigor, methodology, and creativity behind the PrEP Communications Accelerator’s conception and implementation.
The PrEP Communications Accelerator is a free, interactive digital tool that supports national governments, program implementers, and health practitioners to develop marketing and communications that drive demand for PrEP in sub-Saharan Africa. Users of the interactive tool can access demand creation strategies tailored to the populations they want to reach and the settings where those populations live.
To learn more about the multidisciplinary approach used to create the PrEP Communications Accelerator – and how combining public health and marketing best practice can redefine the global health community’s approach to HIV prevention demand creation – read the full peer-revieved article here.
