For the third year in a row, McCann Global Health was invited by USAID to participate in the annual Saving Lives at Birth (SL@B) DevelopmentXChange event held in Washington DC on July 25th-27th. Each year at SL@B, mentors sit with numerous start-ups and entrepreneurs in the maternal and newborn child health space over the course of one day to provide counsel, insight, and guidance around communications, branding and marketing strategy. McCann Global Health is proud to have provided mentorship for another consecutive year.
This offering is a part of McCann Health’s 5-year, $5million commitment to Every Woman, Every Child, the UN’s Public-Private Partnership that brings the business community into the public health and development space. As part of this commitment, McCann Global Health also has contributed pro bono communications consulting to the winner of the Pitch Competition at the SL@B event each year. Last year, McCann Global Health worked with Bempu, an Indian startup that has created an infant temperature monitoring bracelet.
This year, McCann Global Health will be working with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda and the Harvard Medical School helping them develop their program to scale up a compatible add-on to existing resuscitation devices to enable proper ventilation of newborns to avert birth asphyxia.
